About

Hi - I'm Z.  You may know me from my 365 sonnets project.

After writing 365 sonnets, I began to post my new poetry here in spring 2011.

In my current poetry, I continue to search for my artistic identity, experiment with new forms, and express my continued frustrations and joys.  It's a schizophrenic hybrid of the old and the new...

The title of the blog comes from a poem written by my favourite poet, Emily Dickinson.  I think it ideally captures the intrinsically melancholic and questioning nature of my own work -

"Each that we lose takes part of us;
A crescent still abides
which like the moon, some turbid night,
Is summoned by the tides."

Enjoy. ;)
